The serene wetlands at Mangalajodi covering around 10 sq kms in the northern edge of Chilika lagoon, attracts a substantial proportion of the migratory birds from far & away. What’s really exceptional is the proximity that one gets to see the feathered guests here at Mangalajodi, aptly called the bird’s paradise! Best recommended for birding enthusiasts, wildlife photographers & nature lovers. 

Chandeswar village under Tangi tehsil is popular for the heritage Chandeswar Mahadeb Temple. Baba Chandeswar Dev Shaiva Peetha established centuries ago, is a beacon of spirituality and tradition. This heritage temple built during the Eastern Gangas in 12th century is known for its vibrant festivals, including the prominent Kartik Purnima Yatra and Sitalsasthi Jatra, celebrated with great enthusiasm during the winter season.

Our charges are inclusive of cab rentals, boating charges, guide fees, veg breakfast, toll/entry/parking fees & tea at evening but excluding lunch, camera entry fees & any personal expenses by participants etc. In case of any additional/revised & incidental group expenses at sites, it shall be collectively borne by the participants (excl the Aitiha team & cab rider).

Sites to touch: The tour shall have darshan at Chandeswar Mahadeb Temple & visit to two other sites. Post lunch on the highway, we shall have the most exciting part of the day tour with boat ride & bird watching at Mangalajodi wetlands during evening golden hours.  

Imp Notice: Those are planning to join the day tour from outside Bhubaneswar are requested to be on time beforehand to avoid getting missed out. Those travelling overnight via local bus/train are requested to reach 01 hour before the scheduled time at pickup point. It’s always better to reach & stay overnight at Bhubaneswar before the tour starts. Remember, the tour will not stop or be delayed to accommodate you, in case you are late beyond the grace time of 15 min.

Registration & payment open till 6 PM of 17th Dec 2025 (Wed). You have to pay online in full through our portal’s event registration page & then register yourself online. No cash payment option available.

Your registration automatically confirms your acknowledgment of our Terms & Conditions, Do’s & Don’ts & Privacy Policy. Our tours will be of limited seats only, hence book early.

We shall move in a standard AC vehicle on sharing basis for the tour. However, if any participant wishes, he/she can opt for ‘Bring Your Own Vehicle‘ (BYOV) option at their own cost, but need to follow the pilot vehicle of Team Aitiha. Breakfast shall be arranged on the wayside stalls en-route as per available veg items. For lunch, you need to pay your part as per your food preference picked at any average hotel en-route. If are not comfortable with the breakfast or lunch provided or with medical restrictions, you can always carry your own food/fruits.

Our usual route shall be through Ravi Talkies Square>> Khandagiri Square>> Tangi (Khordha)>> Mangalajodi

Wear comfortable clothes as per climate & birding sites visit & act responsibly. Avoid flashy or fluorescent-coloured dresses, rather you may opt for camouflage & greener wear which can bend well with the environment & won’t distract the winged guests. Please carry your essentials with you which may include any medicine, umbrella/cap, camera with lens etc. Don’t forget to carry your power bank, mobile battery charged, camera ready with battery fully charged & memory card cleaned.
