Kila Dalijoda, located at Mangalpur village near Choudwar, has a place among Panchakote’s Singh Deo family of erstwhile Purulia royalty. Originally built as a hunting resort, a portion of it has been converted into a legacy homestay. The laterite stone used for the castle like fortification, built between 1931 and 1933, is an example of Gothic design. Raja Jyoti Prasad Singh Deo, the present Raja Saheb Sri Debjit Singh Deo’s grandfather, had built this delightful Palace (Rajbati). A one-of-a-kind manor-style design with European-style engineering and fittings, with curved windows and entryways fitted with tinted glass, it has the most recent furniture and fittings of the time, including self-producing power. It boasts a few pieces of class-period furniture and relics displayed in various structures. The property is surrounded by high dividers that have been fully energized to keep animals from bouncing inside. The present family have renovated the palace in 2012 & turned it into a heritage homestay with both Raja Saheb & Rani Saheba Namrata Kumari acting as the host for their guests. There’s one recently resurfaced 12th-13th century ancient stepped well deep inside Dalijoda Reserve Forest at Ambilijhari, locally known as Bhai Bahu Dedhasura Kua which is quite interesting to visit This specially curated tour is highly recommended not just for heritage enthusiasts, but for nature lovers & birding photographers.

Imp Notice: Those planning to join the day tour from outside Bhubaneswar are requested to be on time beforehand to avoid getting missed out. Those travelling overnight via local bus/train are requested to reach before the scheduled time at pickup point. It’s always better to reach & stay overnight at Bhubaneswar before the tour starts. Remember, the tour won’t stop or be delayed to accommodate you in case you are late beyond the grace time of 15 min.

We shall move in a standard AC vehicle on sharing basis for the tour. However, if any participant wishes, he/she can opt for Bring Your Own Vehicle (BYOV) option at their own cost but need to follow the pilot vehicle of Team Aitiha.

Wear comfortable clothes as per winter climate & act responsibly. Please carry your essentials with you which may include any medicine, umbrella/cap, camera with lens etc. Don’t forget to carry your power bank, binoculars, tele zoom lens, mobile battery charged, camera ready with battery fully charged & memory card cleaned.
