Bhubaneswar City Trails: Explore Patiagada
April 26 @ 6:00 am - 11:00 am

Bhubaneswar is better known as The Temple City due to the centuries old heritage temples at Old Town. Bhubaneswar as the planned township cum Capital City of Odisha state was created on 13th April 1948 with town planning design by German engineer Otto Konisberger. The day is now celebrated as Bhubaneswar Foundation Day. Bhubaneswar is known for its rich & diverse culture, heritage monuments, great personalities, govt & privately owned museums, festivals/events & cuisine to name a few. Intention is to make walkers aware of the places of importance in the capital city beyond 2000 years old area of Old Town. But it’s not possible to cover all in a tour, hence, certain themes have been devised to explore the city in a phased manner. In fact, the unofficial first one was Gopinath Museum Walk, the residence of Bell Metal museologist & researcher Sudarshan Sahoo.
Bhubaneswar City Trails is an initiative by Aitiha to make people aware of the various aspects of the city space around us, be it heritage, cultural or even modern aspects with which the people here proudly associate them with. ‘Explore Patiagada’ is the official installment under this theme trails. We shall touch certain places of interest in & around Patia this time. Stay tuned for some more such theme trails coming up under Bhubaneswar City Trails.
