BHITARAKANIKA TOUR – 23rd Feb 2020 (Sun)

Bhitarakanika in Kendrapara district is famous for its national park with mangrove forests. The national park and wildlife sanctuary is inundated by the rivers Baitarani, Brahmani, Dhamra, Pathsala. It hosts many mangrove species, and is the second largest mangrove ecosystem in India & it’s quite adventurous cruising in the serpentine river ways surrounded by mangrove forests on both sides.

Bhitarakanika is popular for its salt water crocodile with one holding Guinness record (23ft in size) & the albino Gouri crocodile, migratory & resident birds, olive ridley turtles, 8 varieties of kingfishers, mangrove pitta, water monitor lizard, wild boar, fishing cat, spotted deer etc. The tranquil surrounding & unique bio-diversity attracts visitors, photographers & researchers from near & far.

Note:- Guide can be arranged for a team of 12+ with additional charges. camera entry charges (if any) is extra.

Details of Itinerary

05.30AM              Leave BBSR & tour starts

09.30AM              Arrive at Jay Nagar boat ghat, boating to Khola

10.00AM              Arrive at Khola Gate for registration, entry tickets for boating & food tkts

10.30AM              Cruising on Bhitarakanika river & trekking through Bagagahana mangrove

13.30PM              Arrive at Dangamal & lunch at site

14.30PM              Visit crocodile project/museum

15.30PM              Cruising continues to visit Ganjeikhia creek for crocodile sighting

18.00PM              Arrive back at Jay Nagar Ghat, board cab for return journey

21.30PM              Arrive at BBSR & tour ends
