DESCRIPTION:The rustic village of Olasingh is just 70kms from the busy capital city of Bhubaneswar & is slowing getting its place secured in the tourism circuit. For ages\, Olasingh has been providing Khandua Patta cloth to Sri Jagannath (Puri) for its rituals\, woven with love by the talented weavers community of Olasingh. The sacred river Mandakini (Maluguni) flows nearby.\nRaj-Ranpur or simply Ranpur in Nayagarh district is famous for its 15th century Jagannath Temple. The town is 68 kms from Bhubaneswar & situated at the foothills of the picturesque Maninaga hills.\nRaj-Ranpur is an ex-princely state of Odisha & its 18th century rajbati\, adjacent to the Jagannath Temple can be viewed from outside the premise gate since it’s a private property.\nThe ride to the Maninaga hilltop is itself an adventurous one & if ghat road is okay\, one can have the darshan of Maa Khilamunda on the hilltop.\nOlasingh – Visit Olasingh textile village in the 1st half to experience the process of making a fabric from spinning\, reeling & weaving in traditional tanti (weavers community) style in non-mechanised method.
