DESCRIPTION: The serene wetlands at Mangalajodi covering around 10 sq kms in the northern edge of Chilika lagoon\, attracts a substantial proportion of the migratory birds from far & away. What’s really exceptional is the close proximity that one gets to see the feathered guests here at Mangalajodi\, aptly called the bird’s paradise!  \nBrahmandi village near Mangalajodi\, is worth visiting to see skilled artisans transform clay into pots & a variety of products. Interestingly\, they use a single community Bhatti (fire place). Maa Ugratara Temple\, the presiding deity of Tangi block\, is located at Bhusandhapur. The icon of Maa Ugratara is chaturbhujaa\, holding weapons in her hands. Ugratara is the fierce (ugra) aspect of Maa Tara\, yet she is benevolent to her bhaktas. Finally\, the the most exciting part of the day tour with boat ride & bird watching at Mangalajodi wetlands during evening golden hours.   \nImp Notice: Those are planning to join the day tour from outside Bhubaneswar are requested to be on time beforehand to avoid getting missed out. Those travelling overnight via local bus/train are requested to reach 01 hour before the scheduled time at pickup point. Its always better to reach & stay overnight at Bhubaneswar before the tour starts. Remember\, the tour won’t stop or be delayed in order to accommodate you\, in case you are late beyond the grace time of 15 min. \nGuidelines for this tour – \nRegistration & payment open till 6 PM of 8th Jan 2023 on a first-come-first-served basis. Our tours will be of limited seats only\, hence book early \nWe shall move in a standard AC vehicle on sharing basis for the tour. Participants are required to use face mask\, carry their sanitizer & maintain social distancing at public places. \nOur usual route shall be through Jaydev Vihar Sq>> Khordha>> Ugratara>> Brahmandi >>Mangalajodi wetland .. all in Khordha district. \nWear comfortable clothes as per climate with easy to remove footwear. Remember\, its better to wear non flashy dark clothes or camouflage colour dresses so as not to disturb the winged beauties. Please carry your essentials with you which may include any medicine\, umbrella/cap & others. Since breakfast & lunch shall be standard veg food as available locally en-route\, participants who wish can carry their own veg food. Please respect the rules of places of worship\, respect the locals & act accordingly. Keep your mobile in silent mode wherever needed.
