Ghatagaon in Kendujhar district is in the midst of a wild forest. Tourists and pilgrims from all over worship Maa Tarini in this forest. The makeshift shrine has now been converted into a temple complex with amenities for pilgrims. Tuesdays & Saturdays are observed as the weekly auspicious days for having Maa’s darshan. The puja is done by Dehuri, a tribal group that follows the rites and rituals of the Puja. People believe that Maa Tarini is fond of coconuts, hence pilgrims offer it to her at the Peetha. Its said that if someone is unable to have darshan of Maa ay the peetha & offers coconut as prasad for Maa to vehicles (public bus, truck etc) passing through Kendujhar, he carries it & deposits at the counter at Ghatagaon Temple complex to avoid getting cursed by Maa. Besides the important Pujas offered here, Ghatagaon is also famous for festivals Chaitra Mela, Maha Bisubha Sankranti (Odia New Year), Raja Sankranti etc.

Imp Notice: Those planning to join the day tour from outside Bhubaneswar are requested to be on time beforehand to avoid getting missed out. Those travelling overnight via local bus/train are requested to reach before the scheduled time at pickup point. It’s always better to reach & stay overnight at Bhubaneswar before the tour starts. Remember, the tour won’t stop or be delayed in order to accommodate you in case you are late beyond the grace time of 15 min.

Registration & payment open till 6 PM of 21st Feb 2025 (Fri). You have to pay online in full through our portal’s event registration page & then register yourself online.

Your registration automatically confirms your acknowledgment of our Terms & Conditions, Do’s & Don’ts & Privacy Policy. Our tours will be of limited seats only, hence book early.

We shall move in a standard AC vehicle on sharing basis for the tour. However, if any participant wishes, he/she can opt for ‘Bring Your Own Vehicle‘ (BYOV) option at their own cost,but need to follow the pilot vehicle of Team Aitiha.

Our usual route shall be through Ravi Talkies Square>> Rasulgarh Square>> Chandikhol>> Panikoili >> Ghatagoan

Wear comfortable clothes as per climate & temple visits & act responsibly. Please carry your essentials with you which may include any medicine, umbrella/cap, camera with lens etc. Don’t forget to carry your power bank, mobile battery charged, camera ready with battery fully charged & memory card cleaned.
